Scholarship
Program
The objectives of the CFDD is to encourage and assist professionals moving
upwards in the credit and financial field. Education opportunities should
be provided according to the needs of our members.
In considering applicants, length of membership, attendance, participation
in activities will all be used. Applications who have never applied for or
been given a scholarship will be given consideration over an applicant who
has recently had a scholarship.
GUIDELINES
· Must be a
member in good standing.
· Must attend a
minimum of six (6) meetings.
· Written
application only, No Verbal applications.
· Must be an
approved course, seminar or conference.
· If selected
for a scholarship - at the close of the course, seminar or conference you
must write a brief critique of the course and include the grade you
received (if applicable) for presentation to the membership.
· Application
for National Scholarships must have Chapter Presidents Signature and be RECEIVED
by the CFDD National Director by March 15.
· Deadlines for
Scholarship applications for conference registrations will be no later than
60 days prior to the conference date.
· Scholarships
will be given out as allowed by our Scholarship budget. In the event that
multiple applications are received, preference may be given to those
members who have not previously received a CFDD scholarship.

QUALIFICATIONS
AND CRITERIA
Used by CFDD National Scholarship Selection Committee
Must be a member in
good standing of a NACM Credit and Financial Development Division Chapter
for a period of at least six months.
Application must be
mailed to the CFDD Executive Director, Millie DeMariano, P.O. Box 660, Dayton,
OH 45441,
and must be received on or before March 15.
Applications must be
typed and complete including applicant's and President's signature).
The Applications will
be rated on a point system per each qualification category.
The qualifications are as follows:
- Reason and need
- Business Experience
- Participation in CFDD
Chapter and NACM
- Education
QUALIFICATIONS
TO APPLY
Any CFDD Fort Worth/Dallas Chapter member may apply for a scholarship
provided the member has met the following:
- Dues as required must be
paid current.
- Six (6) months membership
must have been met.
- Member must have been an
active member. Active participation is defined as:
- Having attended fifty
(50) per cent of the prior six (6) months regular meetings.
- Any member who is
attending classes (classes must be work or business career related)
on the regular meeting night shall be exempt from the 50 per cent
attendance provided the member is currently serving on a committee or
has previously served as an officer, chairperson, or on a committee
in the last two years.
- Educational endeavor must
be work related.
- Application must be
received and approved prior to attendance. Application should be
submitted at least one month in advance of event to allow time to be
presented before the board.
- Course must be
satisfactorily completed. Failure to complete may cause forfeiture of
the scholarship.
- Receipt must be submitted
as proof of payment within 90 days of completion.
- Recipient must report to
the general membership on the course, conference, seminar, etc. either
by a written report to be published in the newsletter, or by a report
presented before the membership at a monthly meeting. Reports are to
be received/given within 60 days of completion of function.
- The recipient must be a
member in good standing at the time scholarship funds are dispersed.
Scholarships
are to be awarded to apply to the cost of registration only and any
additional CFDD functions (i.e. CFDD breakfast, luncheon, dinner). Should a
scholarship recipient receive a scholarship from another source, the amount
to be paid by the chapter will be the amount awarded by the Chapter Board
of Directors for the registration, OR the difference between the
registration fee less the amount of any other scholarship received by the
recipient, whichever is less.
Any execption to the above criteria must be approved by a majority of
the Board of Directors.
